Proenza Schouler

Proenza Schouler is my favorite designer of all time. I honestly love (almost) everything they make, and they're one of the few designers who I would actually wear. Don't get me wrong, I love love LOVE gorgeous clothing, but I usually choose comfort over style. But if I had the chance to wear Proenza Schouler, I'd throw my jeans and hoodies away in an instant.

My favorite collection by them is their Spring 2010 collection. I know that this is one of their more famous collections, and everyone loves it, (with good reason!), but I truly am in love with this collection. Everything is so bright and quirky, but still polished, and most importantly (to me at least) wearable.

Sarah's Favorite Designers; A Series of Really Amazing Designers + Their Fabulous Clothes*

*The title of this post should be: "What I'll Be Posting On This Blog", but that's boring. (And my current title isn't!)

At first I wasn't really sure what I should do as an amateur "fashion blogger". Post upcoming trends? Critique celebrities' outfits? Ramble about my favorite designers?

I wasn't too keen on the first idea, seeing as I don't really have any idea what fall trends are going to be. Besides, I feel like "trends" are just what other people say is going to be popular, and I don't want to just reword what other bloggers/magazines are already saying.

I like the second idea more. I'll admit that one of my guilty pleasures is silently judging other people's outfits. The reason why it's a guilty pleasure is because I hate being a bitch, and honestly I feel bad when I think "Oh GAWD, what the eff is SHE wearing?" Besides, it's only my opinion, so what does that matter? (Then again, who is anyone to say what's stylish versus ugly?) I'm not an "expert", or a celebrity, or a designer. I'm a 17 year old girl with a sharp tongue and a love of beautiful clothing. That being said, I might post on a fashion "win" every once in a while, but there won't be any outfit bashing.

The third idea is my favorite, and therefore the one I'll be covering. I don't know a lot about fashion, only what I like, and what I don't like. That being the case, this is the best course of action for me (and you!), naturally. My goal is to inspire you, yes YOU, (not to mention myself), with these posts, so I'm also going to include tips on how to recreate outfits, and other tidbits like that.

I'll also probably do other random posts. I already know I'm going to do one on my favorite bloggers (so you can stop reading this crap), as well as a series on awesome polyvore members.

That's all I have planned out now, but this blog is fairly new, so there's a good chance I'll have some great ideas later on. :)

Also, I'd like to thank my one follower; Erik Goldberg, who followed my original blog that I deleted because I'm stupid. Anyway, Erik is a total a rockstar, and his blog (Style Outsider) is fantastic, even though he hasn't updated since February. (Not that I should be talking...) So thank you, if you're reading this! (And thank you to everyone else reading this too! Especially since this is so rambly and badly written. I'd say it's uneloquent, but I'm 8654% sure that's not a real word.)

Okay, I don't know how to end this, so I'll just end it.

Thursday, July 15, 2010

Hello there.

My name is Sarah and I'm a 17 year old girl from California. I guess this is kind of an introductory post, even though I posted on this blog a couple of months ago. (Then I got bored a erased everything!) Erm...here's a picture of me?

You might be thinking to yourself; HOLY HAMBURGERS, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT POOR GIRLS FACE?

But you're probably not.

(Wondering to yourself what is wrong with my face)

Anyway, the point is, I'm not very good at this whole blogging thing. I have a personal blog, but I view that as more of a public diary type thing. My goal for this particular blog is to post lots of pretty pictures and contemplate recent fashion trends and well, do whatever it is that good art/fashion blogs do.

So...the end? (Yep.)

xoxo,
gossipgirl
